Introducing The Slants Foundation

DEAR FRIENDS,

As you may know, 2017 has been pretty busy for us.

We spent about 8 months on the road, sharing our music across the world.
We released our EP, The Band Who Must Not Be Named.
We went to the Supreme Court. And won.

We‘ve also been working on a secret project. And now we want to share it with you.

We finally got the news: we received 501(c)3 status. In other words, we started a nonprofit organization! Our band has also been dedicated to representation through the arts, and after we overcame our struggle against the government, we decided to pay it forward by starting an organization that would help young Asian Pacific Islanders who are interested in getting into the work of arts and activism. Our new organization is going to help artists by providing scholarships and mentorship.

In this spirit, we‘re collaborating with other Asian American artists for our new album and will be using our platform to highlight some new talent. We‘re also going to former members of The Slants on the record to help celebrate this effort!

We are still in the building phase, but we‘re really excited to help bring this new project to life. If you are interested in being a part of this (as a board member, supporter, volunteer, or performer), please let us know! Click here if you’d like more information about THE SLANTS FOUNDATION.
